The second graders had their turn in the garden today. Mrs. Kunkel brought her well-behaved class to plant tomatoes in their garden bed.
They listened carefully to instructions on how deep to dig the hole, how to remove the bottom ‘cardboard ‘ and tickle the roots, then gently cover with soil. Cool side note, these containers are made of cow manure!! They biodegrade more quickly than cardboard, plus add nutrition to the soil. I call that smart gardening! Win for the environment and win for the plants.
